GIS TECH – Full-Time position, Pikeville KY. Minimum 5 years experience w ARCGIS
Minimum Competency. Individual must be competent in use of ArcGIS 10 including Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst extensions. Cross training in use of AutoCAD would be a definite plus but is not mandatory. Individual must also be competent in the use of mapping grade GPS hardware and software, specifically Trimble GPS equipment and GPS Pathfinder Office software.

Typical Job Requirements
• Generate contours from Digital Elevation Models
• Convert Data from GIS to CAD format or vice versa
• Compile and maintain the latest available GIS data from state agencies
• Create exhibit maps to meet the requirements of various funding agencies
• Georeference scanned maps to appropriate coordinate system
• Perform coordinate system conversions
• Build Raster Catalogs or Mosaic images from various source imagery
• Create new GIS layers as needed and define appropriate attributes
• Create GPS data dictionaries
• Perform GPS data collection
• Estimate time and expenses for GIS projects

Environmental Biologist
Summit Engineering, Inc.’s Pikeville, KY office is seeking to fill a full time position for benthic macroinvertebrate and fish sampling, identification, and reporting.  Person applying should have a Bachelor of Science in biology, environmental science, zoology, ecology, wildlife management or comparable degree.  A Master of Science is preferred but not required.  Knowledge in AutoCAD and GIS is preferred but not required.  This is a full time salary position with excellent benefits including health, dental, life insurance, 401-K plan, a bonus plan and various paid days off.

Project Manager—Full-Time Position
Summit Engineering’s Big Rock, Virginia office is seeking to fill a full-time Project Manager position. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Engineering, Geology, Forestry or related field or past experience in mine permitting and design. Knowledge in AUTOCAD is preferred but not required. EIT or PE a plus. This is a full-time salary position with excellent benefits including health, dental, life insurance, 401-K plan, a bonus plan and various paid days off.

Soils and Water Lab Technician—Full-time Position
Summit Engineering’s Big Rock, Virginia office is seeking to fill a full-time Soils and Water Lab Technician position. The ideal candidate should have a high school degree who is seeking a college degree in a related field of study. The candidate is preferred to be a currently enrolled college student, but not required. This is a full-time position and pay will be based on experience.
