Civil Engineering

Timely Response from Start to Finish

Our civil engineers design, build, administer and inspect construction projects in Kentucky and West Virginia.  Our past projects have included water supply and wastewater treatment systems, roadways, sitework for building projects and parks and various other project types.  Summit’s civil engineers typically do the following for our clients:

  • Analyze long range plans, survey reports, maps, and other data in order to plan projects
  • Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning the stages of, and risk analysis for a project
  • Prepare and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies, verifying that projects comply with various regulations
  • Environmental sampling and testing
  • Provide cost estimates for materials, equipment, and  labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility
  • Use design software to plan and design systems and structures in line with industry and government standards
  • Oversee surveying operations in order to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction
  • Present their findings to the public on topics such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, or descriptions of property
  • Manage the repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure

Our civil engineering team partners with our clients to assist in shaping communities and pushing the limits of possibilities.  We are first and foremost problem solvers that always follow through and hold ourselves accountable.
