Summit Engineering, Inc. was retained by Pleasant Ridge, LLC to assist in the development of a 60-acre tract of land for commercial and industrial uses. Detention for adjacent residential areas was located within the limits of the property thus necessitating careful coordination during construction to maintain storm water retention capabilities. Stream quality necessitated that the detention ponds be designed to both retain storm water and ensure water quality.
Summit Engineering provided project designs, permit applications, bidding documents, and construction administration for the project. Approximately 130,000 cubic yards of rock and earth were excavated at the site to make the terrain suitable for businesses. Construction of 4,330 linear feet of 8” sanitary sewer, 6,270 linear feet of storm sewer, 2,850 linear feet of roadway and three detention ponds were included in the project. Upon completion of construction, final plats were prepared dedicating the easements to the appropriate entities and subdividing the property into parcels.
Summit Engineering worked closely with the owner and contractor during construction to ensure the project was constructed per the design intent. The project also necessitated the close coordination of our staff with numerous utility companies to ensure each lot was served by necessary utilities.
