Pike County Landfill
Client: Pike County Fiscal Court—Meta, KY
This project involved the permitting, design and closure of a 25 year facility. Phases I & II of this project included site acquisition and procurement of initial construction permits. Near completion of these phases, a 4-year management plan for the entire County including recycling, litter control and open dump issues was developed. Phase III included closure plans and monitoring of Phase I & II and the design and permitting of Phase III, Phase IV developed the closure plans for Phase III and designed a 5 year life cell for Phase IV.
Summit also developed and implemented all required geotechnical, hydrological,surface and groundwater monitoring plans, as well as surveying and construction management. Each phase included the conduction of annual section surveys for remaining volume capacity and updated hydrological, surface and groundwater monitoring plans.
