Stone Crest Subdivision
Client: City of Prestonsburg—Prestonsburg, Kentucky
Summit was retained by the City of Prestonsburg to design and plat the lot layout, water lines, sewer collection lines and roadway for 120-lot subdivision. Project involved early bond release for a mining company so that the City could develop the golf course, subdivision, recreational facilities for public and school use, and an industrial park. The course is now open, as is the golf clubhouse. In addition approximately 10 house have been constructed.
Funding involved local funds, sale of coal and timber from the acreage, Coal Severance funds, State Budget Set Aside funds, Economic Development Administration funds for the industrial park. Additionally, the Corps of Engineers worked with the City and Congress to deed land to the project in a unique coordination effort that provided the City with additional acreage for this multi-purpose mountain top project.
